Tips for Finding the Best Swimsuits for Curvy Women

My wife is 6 foot tall and constantly struggles to find a swimsuit that fits her well. If she orders her usual dress size, the swimsuit is too tight and uncomfortable. If she goes up a dress size the swimsuit ends up being baggy and ill-fitting.

From our experience in the UK most designers just produce a standard size and expect that to fit all women of that dress size – Oh if only life were that simple. I’m afraid that women can’t be pigeon-holed into just 5 or 6 different sizes. Mother Nature made all women beautiful but all in different sizes AND shapes so imagine my wife’s delight when she discovered Seaspray swimsuits!

They have a standard range of products which are great but they also have a range of products that are specifically designed for taller women. In addition they cater for standard size women who have a longer body than average.

My wife likes the way that their swimsuits hold your tummy in so they are actually quite flattering.

Their designs are eye catching and striking too and they seem to change them every season so your swimsuit will always look ‘fresh’ and new.

Price wise at around £70 per swimsuit, they did initially seem expensive. But once you try one on you’ll appreciate the comfort and fit. So yes, you can buy a cheaper swimsuit, but the old adage rings true, I’m afraid. You really do get what you pay for and in terms of comfort, fit and style, these swimsuits are very good value.

I would suggest a matching Pareo or Sarong to complement your new beach outfit, just to give you that extra touch of style. This will also serve a practical purpose when you go to lunch or are walking around the hotel and want to maintain your modesty!

My wife did try a Bandeau swimsuit from Seaspray in the first instance – The obvious benefit being that you can remove the straps, so you don’t get any ‘strap lines’ – But to be honest the level of support was not quite as good. The Bandeau is great for sunbathing on a beach or perhaps on a cruise if you are lucky enough! But for swimming in the pool or in the sea I think the swimsuit with straps is definitely the best option.

You might want to try a Bikini or a Tankini but in my experience you need to have a great figure for those. The Seaspray swimsuits are definitely the best choice if you want a great fit from your swimsuit.

Most department stores stock their lines or failing that there are a few websites where you can buy their swimsuits.
